Berwick withdrew from the Borders League in the Spring on 2019,  and the club does not now meet regularly, but there are still players in the area. Although Berwick is in Northumberland, for convenience the chess club used to play in the Borders.  All enquiries to .

Galashiels: Focus Centre: Tuesdays at 7.00pm


The Focus Centre is a community centre where the Gala Chess Club met each week.  At the time of writing there is a question mark over the future of the Focus Centre, but further details will be posted here as we get them. Enquiries to

Kelso: British Legion: Tuesdays at 7.30pm


Kelso is based in the local British Legion club, but does not at present meet there every week.   Interested players should contact Alan Armstrong or ed@selkirkchess.co.uk .

Peebles

The Peebles club has not entered a team in the Borders League for a few years now, but there are still chess players in the town who meet regularly - in the Peebles Arms.

Hawick

Hawick disbanded some years ago, leaving a diaspora in other clubs in the region.  There are in fact a number of Hawick players, and anyone wanting to play should contact Dave Bogle on 01450-373502.

Jedburgh

The Jedburgh club is a small one, which meets every Monday evening in the Canon Bar.  Everyone is invited to come along and enjoy the atmosphere of a truly traditional bar.
