
30 Jan 2024: Gala v Selkirk; BICC Minor
On Tuesday, the Focus Centre saw a 2-2 tie between Gala and Selkirk: there were draws on boards 2 and 3, and a win for Gala on board 4. Last game to finish was the board 1 game between Martin Wallace and Dave Bogle, which ended in a win for Dave Bogle after 59 moves.
In the third round of the Borders Individual Minor section, Sam Cornwell has defeated Ian Thompson in a complex and fascinating game. The updated table is below.

10 Jan 2024: Selkirk v NHS; Kelso v Gala
Two matches were played on Tuesday 9th January: in the Town Arms the visitors were NHS, the match ending in a 3-1 victory for Selkirk. Wins were recorded by John Moore, Bill Miller and Sam Cornwell - with Dave Bogle suffering the team's only defeat (against Stasys Gimbutis).
At the Focus Centre, Kelso beat Gala by 3-1.
Meanwhile, we have two Borders Individual results: in the Minor section, Sam Cornwell and Logan Symons drew their second round match, and in the second round of the Championship, Ian Whittaker defeated Dave Bogle.
